The Dancer 89 is Faction's approachable all-mountain ski, the lighter and livelier of the two Dancer 89 versions. It measures 126/89/115 mm at every length, with a lightweight poplar core in a classic fiberglass sandwich, no titanal, an elliptical sidecut, XL 2.5 mm edges and a sintered base. The 173 has a 17 m radius and weighs 1620 g per ski.
The trade-off of a metal-free build is a lighter, poppier feel instead of the heavy, planted ride of the Ti version. It is easy to ski at moderate speeds, and skiers who want the most stability at speed will prefer the Dancer 89 Ti.
It is for skiers who want one ski that adapts to them across the whole mountain. It is comfortable and secure while you find your rhythm, yet capable when you decide to open it up. Tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot and Mustache Flex give stability underfoot with a smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails.
Lengths run 153 to 185, with the radius growing from 13 m to 19 m. Come talk to us about the right length for your height and style.
We think the Dancer 89 is a fantastic everyday all-mountain ski that makes every kind of day on snow more fun.
This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
