The Prodigy 2 is Faction's all-mountain freestyle workhorse and the best-seller in the Prodigy Series. It measures 127/98/119 mm with a poplar wood core, full-strength sidewalls, a carbon and rubber stomp pad underfoot, XL 2.5 mm edges and a sintered base. The 183 has a 20 m radius and weighs 1860 g per ski.
The trade-off of a 98 mm waist is a middle-ground ski rather than a specialist. It is wide enough for softer snow and narrow enough to carve clean on firm groomers, while dedicated powder skiers will want something wider.
It is for skiers who mix freeride and freestyle and want one ski for the whole mountain. The directional twin shape has a freestyle-friendly tail for riding switch, and the stomp pad adds vibration damping and stiffness in the binding zone.
Rocker, camber, rocker profile with 20 percent tip rocker, 3 mm of camber and 16 percent tail rocker. Lengths run 159 to 189, with the radius growing from 12 m to 21 m. Come talk to us about the right length for how you ski.
We love the Prodigy 2 for skiers who want to play on every part of the mountain, from side hits to fresh snow.
This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
