BOA replaces laces with a dial and a steel cable, giving even pressure across the foot and adjustment mid-workout with gloves on. It is the upgrade most people notice immediately. It is also one more mechanical part to look after, and it wants keeping clean.

This is a skate-specific boot for skiers training or racing. The cuff stiffness that makes it good at skating works against a classic kick, so anyone skiing classic is better off in the XC Control.

Nordic boots run closer to true street size than alpine boots do, but come and try them on. A skate boot that is slightly loose gives you blisters and wasted energy.
