The Hestra Army Leather Heli Ski Mitt is the warmest version of the glove Hestra first built for ski guides in western Canada. It combines durable Army goat leather with a three-layer polyamide fabric backhand, G-Loft insulation and a removable Bemberg fleece liner.
The trade-off of a mitt is dexterity. Hestra rates the Heli Ski Mitt 8 out of 8 for warmth and 3 out of 8 for mobility, so it is built for the coldest days, while its smart details make it easy to live with when you cannot go inside to warm up.
It is for skiers who spend long, cold days outdoors and often find themselves far from the resort and its comforts. The liner comes out to dry or swap for different temperatures, the long collar has a snowlock, and a Velcro wrist strap seals in warmth. A wrist strap and an eyelet for a carabiner keep it with you or on your harness.
Hestra sizes mitts by number. Stop by the shop and try one on.
We love the Heli Ski Mitt for bitter cold chairlifts and frozen patrol days, when nothing else keeps hands this warm.
