The Hestra Ergo Grip Vektor Glove was developed with mountain guide Alexander Nordvall, whose wishlist was flexible, really hardwearing and warming wool. It is a climbing glove built to handle close contact with rock, ice and climbing gear while giving superb mobility, with a Duratan synthetic suede palm that stays hardwearing even when wet.
The trade-off is moderate warmth for a near bare-hand feel. Hestra rates it 4 out of 8 for warmth and 7 out of 8 for mobility, and the Ergo Grip design with pre-curved fingers gives amazing sensitivity.
It is for ski mountaineers, ice climbers and tourers who need fine motor skills in the cold. The backhand is Hestra Mistral three-layer polyamide stretch fabric that is windproof, waterproof and breathable, and a light wool terry lining insulates around the hand. A neoprene cuff with Velcro closure and reinforcement details round it out.
Hestra uses numbered sizes, and the Vektor is meant to fit close for dexterity. It is machine washable. Stop by and try it on.
We think the Vektor is an amazing glove for ski climbing and fast days in the mountains, when every move counts.
