The Hestra Wakayama Mitt is the warm mitten version of Hestra's retro-inspired Wakayama. The outer mitt is impregnated cowhide, and inside there is a removable wool terry liner plus a fixed fleece liner and PrimaLoft Gold synthetic insulation, so it is easy to adjust for activity and temperature.
The trade-off of a mitt is dexterity. Hestra rates the Wakayama Mitt 7 out of 8 for warmth and 3 out of 8 for mobility, which makes it the pick for anyone whose hands freeze easily.
It is for skiers and riders who want serious warmth with a classic look, on the hill and off it. A paracord adjusts the width around the wrist, a neoprene cuff on the inside of the wrist gives a comfortable fit, and a wrist strap keeps the mitt with you on the chair.
Hestra sizes mitts by number. The wool liner comes out to dry, which helps on back to back days. Stop by and we will help you find the right size.
We love the Wakayama Mitt for cold mornings, early season groomers and the last spring corn, and it looks great with everything.
