The Julbo Ward is a vintage-inspired sunglass with a thick bridge and a 1970s and 80s shape, fitted with Julbo's Spectron 3 Polarized lens. The polycarbonate lens lets in 12% of visible light and blocks 100% of UVA, UVB and UVC, and the frame is bio-sourced Rilsan.
The trade-off is that the Ward is a lifestyle frame first. It is not a wraparound sport shield, but its polarized lens and grippy pads make it more capable than most casual sunglasses.
It is for downhill skiing on bright days, road trips and everyday wear. Rubberized Grip Tech pads on the temple arms and nose bridge keep it in place, and it comes with a microfiber pouch.
It is a wide fit with a standard bridge: 56 mm lens width, 17 mm bridge and 137 mm temples.
We think the Ward is a great pair for spring corn days at Stowe and summer afternoons by the lake.
