The K2 Wayback 89 is the narrowest ski in the Wayback touring line, refined with input from athletes and guides. It measures 121-89-107 with a 19.3 m radius at 174 cm and weighs just 1275 g at that length without a plate.
The Wayback is K2's touring line, built on a Paulownia Tour Light core with Titanal Touring Technology laminates for downhill stability and edge hold, a bio-based resin with 31 percent bio-based carbon content, and a Snophobic topsheet that resists snow buildup on the skin track.
The trade-off is float. At 89 mm underfoot it is built for efficiency and edge grip on firm snow rather than surfing deep powder, so it pairs best with spring missions, long tours and hard-packed couloirs.
It suits intermediate to expert skiers who prioritize uphill efficiency and want a precise, light ski for big days. The All-Terrain Rocker combines tip rocker with camber underfoot for mixed conditions.
For long spring tours and early starts on firm snow, the Wayback 89 is a light, precise ski that makes big objectives feel within reach.

Quick Rule
- Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
- Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
- Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
- Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.
Adjust For
- Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
- Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
- Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
