The Look Pivot 2.0 18 GW is Look's flagship alpine binding, with a DIN range of 8 to 18 and compatibility with both alpine DIN and GripWalk soles. It pairs an all-aluminum Race toe with the classic turntable heel that rotates directly under the tibia.
The trade-off is that this is a high-performance binding for strong skiers. The DIN range starts at 8, so it is not the right choice for lighter or less aggressive skiers who need a lower setting.
For advanced and expert skiers, it is about retention without pre-release. The toe offers 45 mm of elastic travel and 180 degree multi-directional release with a mechanical upward release independent of the heel. The heel has 28 mm of vertical elasticity, which Look says is the most on the market. Seven boot contact points and a very short mounting zone let the ski flex naturally.
Choose a brake width equal to your ski's waist or up to 15 mm wider. The binding adjusts 15 mm for boot sole length.
We think the Pivot is the gold standard for skiers who want to trust their bindings on the hardest days at Stowe.
