The Runbold Winter SO Pants are Mammut's warm softshell pants for winter hiking. They use an almost completely recycled 3-layer softshell with a soft fleece lining and a PFC-free DWR treatment, so they keep out the wet and protect you from the cold. They weigh 502 g.
The trade-off of softshell is that it is water repellent, not waterproof. That makes it far more breathable and comfortable than a hardshell pant on a cold, dry day, but it is not the pant for a sleety downpour.
They are for winter hikers and walkers who want warm, comfortable pants for snowy trails. Mesh-lined side vents dump heat after a strenuous climb.
Regular fit with a concealed snap fly, belt loops, two zippered slit pockets, a zippered seat pocket, a pre-shaped knee and a drawstring leg hem.
We love the Runbold Winter Pants for snowy hikes and cold-weather errands, cozy all day long.
