The Unleashed 106 CA is the carbon version of Nordica's all-new Unleashed 106, a 106 mm freeride ski with no metal. It uses a Lite Performance poplar wood core with carbon stringers, True Tip construction and Nordica's Freeride Flow Shape, which pairs early rise in the tip and tail with camber underfoot. Turn radius runs from 14.7 m at 157 cm to 17.7 m at 178 cm.

The trade-off for leaving out the metal is a lighter, softer, livelier ski with a little less damp hold at high speed on firm snow. Skiers who want more grip for charging will like the metal-equipped Unleashed 106.

It is made for skiers who see the mountain as a playground: surfy and responsive in soft snow, quick in the trees and poppy off every roller. The partial twin tip makes smears, slashy turns and switch landings feel natural.

Wood and carbon give lively rebound without the weight of metal, which also makes it a fun pick for lighter skiers who want a playful wide ski. Come talk with us about length and the right binding to match how you ski.

We love the Unleashed 106 CA for powder days and tree laps, where its playful pop really comes alive.

This guide is for alpine (downhill) skis. Ski length depends on your height, your ability, and how you like to ski. Use this chart as a starting point, then talk to us about the ski itself: rocker, width, and turn shape all change how long a ski feels.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
