Insulated lofoten pants for cold resort days. GORE-TEX weather protection with synthetic insulation built in, reinforced scuff guards at the cuff where edges and buckles land, and side venting for when the sun finally shows up in March and the whole thing becomes too warm.

Pairs with the lofoten insulated jacket for a full warm kit, but they also work with a plain shell jacket if you run cold below the waist and hot above. That combination is more common than people expect, and there's no rule that says a kit has to match.

Synthetic fill rather than down, for the same reason as the jacket. Pants get wet from the outside constantly and down handles that badly.

Fit has room for a base layer underneath but isn't cut for a heavy mid-layer, since the insulation is doing that job already. If you're used to sizing up in shell pants to accommodate layers, you probably don't need to here.
