The Oboz Women's Bridger 7" Insulated Waterproof is a 7-inch winter hiking boot with a leather upper, B-Dry waterproof protection and 200 grams of Freeze Guard insulation made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. It weighs about 20.5 oz.
The trade-off is that this is a dedicated winter boot. The insulation and 12 mm drop make it warm and stable for cold days, but it will feel like a lot of boot on a hot summer hike.
It is for snowshoeing, snowy winter hikes and cold walks around town. The Trail Tread Polar Traction outsole uses a softer winter rubber compound and deep lugs for grip on frozen and icy ground, and the O FIT Insole Thermal adds a reflective mylar layer and triple-density EVA. A gaiter-compatible D-ring sits at the laces.
It runs true to size on a women's-specific last with a form-hugging heel cup, sculpted midfoot and a generous forefoot and toe box. It is a medium-high volume fit, available in regular and wide.
We love the Bridger for snowy Vermont trails and winter dog walks when warm, dry feet are everything.
