Women's 185 Rock'N'Wool Short Pants 26/27

The 185 in the name is the fabric weight: 185 g/m² of 100% merino wool, spun with Südwolle's OTW technology so fewer fine hairs stick out, which cuts pilling and adds elasticity. The wool is 19 micron and comes from Ortovox's Tasmanian farms. It regulates temperature and moisture and neutralizes odor. The Short Pants are the 3/4-length bottom in the line, cut with the same split asymmetrical design.

Three-quarter length is the whole point. The hem stops above the boot cuff so it cannot bunch under a ski sock and create a pressure point, and in exchange you give up coverage at the ankle that a full-length bottom gives you.

These are for skiers in ski or snowboard boots who have ever felt a fold of fabric under a buckle. If you want warmth all the way to the ankle for cold chairlift days, the Long Pants are the better pick.

They sit close without squeezing, and the merino handles a full day of climbing and skiing without going sour.
