Fleece Grid is Ortovox's technical midlayer: MERINO FLEECE GRID fabric with a fine waffle structure on the inside that traps warm air and moves moisture out, with soft merino against the skin for climate regulation and odor control. Chest, shoulders and hood are panelled in MERINO FLEECE LIGHT for wind protection where you need it.

A grid fleece is warm for its weight and breathes far better than a solid fleece, and it is not windproof on its own. That is the deal: it stays comfortable on the climb, and it wants a shell over the top when the weather turns.

This is for skiers and climbers who want one midlayer that works hard on the uphill. If you are looking for warmth while standing still, an insulated piece will serve you better.

The hood is cut close enough to sit under a helmet, two chest pockets clear a pack's hipbelt, and the fabric stretches with a generous cut through the shoulders.
