The Fury is Pret's top men's helmet and the one SKI Magazine voted Best Ski Helmet Overall. Ventilation is Level C: a single lever runs both the front and upper vents, so you open it up, shut it down, or split the difference without taking a glove off. Underneath is ACT in-mold multi-shell construction over specific gravity EPS, with Mips, the Ripcord360 fit dial, a Fidlock magnetic buckle and an IONIC+ liner over HALEO foam. A medium is 421 grams, certified ASTM F2040 and CE EN1077B.
You pay for that. Much of the money goes into the vent lever and the fit dial rather than the impact protection, which is broadly the same Mips and EPS story further down the range. If you never touch your vents, the Cynic protects you just as well for less.
This is for the skier out in everything who actually uses the adjustment: bootpacking in the morning, a cold lift after lunch. Anyone skiing steady conditions will do fine on the Cynic.
Sizing is head circumference in centimetres. Between sizes, take the larger and let the dial take up the slack.
Pair it with a Pret goggle and the brim lines up so there is no brain-freeze gap, which is the best reason we know to buy the helmet and the goggle together.
