The Voile HyperCharger is an ultralight big mountain and powder touring ski handmade in Utah, with a 104mm waist at 171cm. It uses a paulownia core with two layers of Voile Carbon-Weave, triaxial fiberglass, full-contact steel edges and an anti-ice topsheet.

The trade-off of an ultralight build is that it rewards a smooth, centered skier more than a heavy resort ski would in chopped-up snow. Voile designs it around AT bindings.

It is a great match for skiers who want a wide, light ski for deep days and big lines, with stability at speed and a directional, carving feel.

Lengths run from 154 to 185cm. Dimensions run from 133-102-118mm at 164cm to 143-108-126mm at 185cm, with turn radii from 18 to 20 meters and pair weights from 2,420g to 3,010g. The Early Rise Camber profile has an early-rise tip and wide shovel for float, camber underfoot and a wide, flat tail with minimal taper.

We love the HyperCharger as a light way to carry real powder width up the skin track.

Tech Features

Early Rise Camber

Early-rise tip and wide shovel for powder float, camber underfoot for edge hold and a wide, flat tail for control in debris and firm snow.

Paulownia Core

Paulownia replaces the poplar of the Charger, with added carbon to keep the ski stiff and stable while saving weight.

Voile Carbon-Weave

Two layers of carbon combined with triaxial fiberglass for torsional stiffness with less weight.

Full-Contact Steel Edges

Hardened steel edges with inset teeth for grip on hardpack and ice.

Anti-Ice Topsheet

Textured polyamide topsheet that limits snow and ice buildup on long approaches.

Sintered Base

High-density black base for fast glide and wear resistance.

Quick Rule

  • Beginner: ski tip around your chin. Shorter skis turn easily.
  • Intermediate: tip between your nose and forehead.
  • Advanced: tip around the top of your head, for stability at speed.
  • Expert: about 5cm longer than advanced, for hard charging and big-mountain terrain.

Adjust For

  • Go longer: heavier build, fast skiing, deep snow, lots of tip rocker.
  • Go shorter: lighter build, tight trees and moguls, uphill touring.
  • Telemark: if you want a ski for tele, we recommend going down about 10cm from the length you normally like.
