Serac Clip Crampons 26/27

The Serac Clip is Black Diamond's lightweight 12-point crampon for the variable, moderate terrain of classic mountaineering routes, the kind of ground you find in the Tetons, the Alps and the Cascades. It is built from redesigned stainless steel that resists snowballing and will not rust, with rocker in the front rail to match modern mountain boots. The clip version weighs 905 g.

Horizontal frontpoints bite securely in icy steps, while classic secondary points and substantial rear points keep you stable on descents and low-angle terrain. The trade-off is that this is a general mountaineering crampon, not a technical ice tool; for steep water ice, a more aggressive model is the better fit.

The clip version is made for mountain boots without a toe welt, with a low-profile micro-adjust heel bail for a precise fit. It comes with front and rear dual-density anti-balling plates. To run them on ski boots, Black Diamond recommends the wide toe bails, sold separately.
